My name is Michael S. Donovan, and I am a long time resident of St. Tammany Parish. I grew up in Slidell, Louisiana and graduated from Northshore High School. I completed my undergraduate degree at LSU and then went on to receive my Juris doctorate from Loyola University of New Orleans College of Law.

I started the Donovan Law Firm, LLC, in January 2011, to use my skills and passion as an advocate to help the people of my community. Prior to starting the Donovan Law Firm, LLC, I worked at a law firm defending insurance companies. As a lawyer that is not what I wanted my career to be about – protecting the insurance company’s bottom line. I wanted my career to be about helping people - my family, my friends, my neighbors and you.

Through that process I discovered that I enjoyed guiding people through the process of opening a succession or drafting their Last Will and Testament. Over the last few years I have worked hard to make that the focus of my practice and was honored to be recognized as a Rising Star by Super Lawyers. But even more important is being recognized by my past clients and my peers. I currently reside in St. Tammany Parish with my wife and two children. We enjoy spending time together as a family and enjoying all that south-east Louisiana has to offer. During the fall and winter I can usually be found coaching my son’s youth soccer team, and taking the time to cheer on the Saints and the Tigers.
